Getting Started in the Clinic Program

Nothing is more important than your health. And choosing to lose weight is offen the single most important thing you can do to improve your health and quality of life. Maryland Healthy Weighs offers a variety of treatment options for people wanting to lose 10 – 200 pounds or more. Trained health professionals will work with you to provide lifestyle education and coaching, personalized attention, and follow-up support, helping you to learn the skills you’ll need to keep your weight off long after you leave the program.

We offer two basic diet options in the clinic

Both diets are nutritionally complete and provide plenty of delicious food so you can feel full while you lose weigh. These are NOT deprivation diets!

Free Orientation

We offer free orientations to give you the information you need to make a fully informed decision about which program option will work best for you. At the orientation, our Health Educator will give you an overview of the different programs that Maryland Healthy Weighs has to offer. In addition, the Health Educator will discuss your weight loss goals and medical history to better provide you with program options and pricing. Weekly Classes

All MHW patients attend a weekly weigh-loss class led by a highly trained Health Educator. The class provides a structured focus on weight management skill development through coaching, practice, and feedback. You will be given dieting support for the upcoming week as well as opportunities for individual coaching. We also offer the HMR at Home® Program if you are unable to attend classes.


Medical Supervision

The MHW medical staff reviews your health history and determines the level of medical supervision you will need throughout the program. The level of medical supervision is based on the diet option you choose, the amount of weight you want to lose, and any medical conditions you have such as diabetes or high blood pressure. From day one, we involve your primary care provider in your treatment plan.


Maintenance

The HMR state-of-the-art maintenance program, the most comprehensive in the industry, focuses on lifestyle strategies for long-term weight management. You will learn lifelong habits and behaviors to keep the weight off.

*HMR Decision-Free® Diet Program average weight loss is 50-60 pounds. Many people lose over 100 pounds. (HMR data from selected programs published or presented at medical conferences.)
*HMR Healthy Solutions ® Diet Program average weight loss is 35-40 pounds. Many lose much more. (HMR data from selected programs published or presented at medical conferences.)
