The Healthy Shakes® Diet is one of our structured program options that gives you exact guidelines for how to organize your routine to get the best results. It offers some more flexibility than the The Healthy Solutions® Diet for individuals that need it, while still keeping ease and simplicity as a major goal.
This program is perfect...
...for individuals who want structure. "Give me some guidelines." "Don't give me too many choices to make and don't make it complicated."
...for individuals who have a moderate to high amount weight to lose. "I've got 25+ pounds I need to lose, and I don't want to run out of motivation before I hit my goal."
...for individuals who need more flexibility. "I travel a lot and eat out frequently and need more options to choose from." "I cook for my family and want to coordinate healthy meals for everyone."
...for individuals who need more variety. "I like to cook." "If this is too restrictive, I won't be able to stick to it long term."
If this option isn't the best fit for you, consider the Healthy Solutions® and A la Carte options.
This diet includes fruits, vegetables, the HMR meal replacements, and select condiments thrown in for variety. It is also an option to incorporate measured portions of specific proteins (like chicken or fish) and whole grains (like brown rice). Everything else is off limits for now, but it will come back once you get closer to your goals! By doing this, you don't have to do extensive calorie counting or portion control, and food preparation is as easy as possible. Every entree, for example, takes only a minute to prepare!
A typical day might look something like this:
Breakfast - A Vanilla Shake with frozen strawberries and banana slices
Snack - Carrot sticks with fat-free dressing
Lunch - The HMR Beef Stroganoff with Noodles entree, with extra corn
Snack - An HMR Soup, poured over steamed broccoli
Dinner - Homemade grilled chicken and shrimp stir-fry with mixed vegetables
Snack - An HMR Multigrain Cereal, baked over apples with cinnamon/ sugar-free syrup
Within the diet, you can eat as much as you want. If you're hungry, have an extra shake. If you need something crunchy while you watch tv, bring in some more cucumbers to munch on. If everyone else is having donuts in the office, you've got an HMR Double Chocolate Chip Benefit Bar.
You never have to rely on willpower, you never have to go hungry, and you never have to watch other people eat while you restrict yourself. This is not a deprivation diet! It's not about cutting back, it's about making better choices and finding ways to enjoy them!
Because this option has some added flexibility, there is more room for errors. Incorrectly measuring portion size, specific cooking methods (like using oil or butter), and food choice will all affect weight loss. It is recommended that you utilize the meal replacements as often as possible to give yourself the best chance of losing weight each week.
Each HMR Program has different average weight-loss results. These are the results we get for people who completed between 12-26 weeks: 43-66 lbs. for the in-clinic Decision Free® plan (1), and 28-37.5 lbs. for the in-clinic Healthy Solutions® plan (2). Average weight loss for the Healthy Solutions® at Home program with phone coaching is 23 lbs. at 12 weeks and 28 lbs. at 26 weeks (3). There is no guarantee of specific results. Results can vary.
